Parents are often very doubtful about suitable education plans for their kids if they have special education needs. Special needs/learning disabilities are a wide array of conditions that can be physical, behavioral, or psychological impairments. The kids with special needs often face challenges in education and they need to be carefully addressed to ensure they get an equal opportunity to learn and progress.

While children with physical disabilities like cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy or chronic asthma might need more help from health professionals, children with behaviour issues face trouble adjusting to the traditional disciplining system and can not adapt to learning in an education system that does not focus on them individually.

Psychological conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia require more attention and need flexibility in education. Children with these conditions often fall behind the rest of their class and perform poorly in academics but this is not reflective of their potential and intellect. They need flexible, creative and self-paced environments to overcome obstacles to learning and require the education process to be personalised and adaptive. In a traditional setting, they feel the need to compete with other children and the pressures of competition can result in low self-esteem, anxiety, isolation and depression, and further damage academic progress. They experience fluctuating moods so they need education to be available to them at all times, even outside the school system, this increases their interest in learning and adapts education according to their moods.

Over the past three years, our research team at Kidocode has been working hard to develop a system that is adaptive, personalised based on the pace and interests of a student. Our personalised system has been tried and tested on several students who have had these conditions and they've found our flexible learning very effective in controlling their obstacles to learning and developing their interest in areas like coding, math and science - subjects that they fell behind in a traditional education system. This is why at Kidocode we don't see these children as having disabilities, we believe they are just like any other child with the same potential, they just need the right kind of education that is suitable to them.

We have a lot of parents who were very doubtful of any education system, but over time they have developed trust in our system and feel secure sending their kids here. We have worked very hard to ensure Kidocode feels like their second home, a comfortable space where trainers have confidence in them and the system does not pressurise them in any way to fit in.
